Michael Papaiacovou

Michael Papaiacovou has over 9 years of infrastructure experience across different sectors including utilities, energy, transport assets and concessions.

Since joining Ancala in 2016, Michael’s key investments include the acquisition of Portsmouth Water including raising debt financing to support the construction of a reservoir; acquisition of the largest onshore wind farm in Cyprus; acquisition of Aquatrine Package A (rebranded to Ancala Water Services); acquisition of Liverpool Airport and the development of Ancala’s Scottish hydro business Green Highland Renewables, including its debt raising and the subsequent sale of the business.

While at PwC, Michael worked on a range of UK and European infrastructure and energy projects building and reviewing financial and operational models.

Michael is a Chartered Accountant (ACA) and a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and holds an MSc in Finance and Economics and a BSc in Accounting and Finance from the London School of Economics.
