Valentra owns and operates a portfolio of pipeline-connected sites and storage facilities for the production, storage and transportation of critical chemical intermediates.

The sites are located in Baytown, Texas; Luling, Louisiana; and Geismar, Louisiana.

Valentra’s facilities are among the largest pipeline suppliers for methanol-based raw materials, including formalin, in the U.S. Gulf Coast. They are situated on major chemical parks to ensure manufacturers have access to a dependable, high-quality and cost-efficient supply of critical chemical intermediates.

The sites supply intermediates directly via pipeline to co-located chemical plants and also support wider industrial demand through offsite distribution. These inputs are critical for producing essential chemicals for the agriculture, healthcare, automotive and construction sectors, and are typically provided under multi-year contracts.

A complex carve-out

Ancala’s acquisition was a complex carve-out which required Ancala to transition the assets from a large corporate into an independent operating entity while maintaining continuity of its operations. Ancala’s significant track record in delivering complex corporate carve-outs was a decisive factor in the vendor choosing Ancala. The infrastructure manager’s ability to move quickly through the process enabled it to meet the vendor’s requirements while also progressing the transition.

Delivering operational excellence

Ancala is building Valentra with experienced team members from Hexion and a new CEO to continue to deliver best-in-class services for customers and explore organic and acquisitive value creation opportunities.
