The list showcases 20 of the best and brightest talents within infrastructure investment that are under the age of 40 and are shaping the future of the asset class. Individuals included evidence leadership, innovation and outstanding achievements across every stage of the investment lifecycle. Tim has shown this in spades throughout his career but especially during his time at Ancala.
Having joined Ancala in 2015, Tim was made Partner in 2023. He has played a significant role in building Ancala’s portfolio of assets and growing its investment and asset management teams. During his time at Ancala, the firm’s AuM has grown over 13 times, from €300m to more than €4.2bn.
Tim helps lead Ancala’s investment activity and has worked directly on 10 investments at Ancala, deploying almost €1bn in equity. This includes leading Ancala’s investments in Norwegian supply base Fjord Base, German smart meter operators Solandeo and Hausheld, last mile network utility operator Leep Utilities and Liverpool John Lennon Airport. He also supported Ancala’s award-winning exit from Dragon LNG in 2024.
Tim applies Ancala’s proactive approach to asset management which has supported its funds to outperform. Management teams value Tim’s broad infrastructure, corporate finance and relationship experience, along with his entrepreneurial mindset. In particular, he has steered Leep Utilities from being a small corporate subsidiary with 2,000 connections to having over 150,000 active or contracted multi-utility connections across the UK.
Tim has also played a leading role in recruiting Ancala’s investment and asset management teams. He has carefully constructed diverse and multi-national teams with broad experience.
Commenting to Infrastructure Investor on what it takes to succeed in the industry, Tim said:
“You have to have a fine balance of conservatism in wanting to buy stable assets with prudent long-term underwriting, coupled with the instinct and entrepreneurialism to be able to pitch a partnership vision to asset owners and to bring unique angles that allow an asset owner to take the journey with us.”
The Ancala team congratulates Tim for his deserved recognition from Infrastructure Investor. His inclusion follows Ankur Ajmera, another Partner at Ancala, featuring in the inaugural Infrastructure Investor Rising Stars in 2023.
