Mei joined Ancala in 2014 and has c. 20 years’ experience working with private market fund managers. She is a member of Ancala’s management, valuation and risk committees.
Prior to Ancala, Mei spent two years at First Avenue, a capital placement firm with a focus on infrastructure and private debt strategies. Mei’s responsibilities at First Avenue included engagement with institutional investors and consultants, manager due diligence and preparing fund managers for institutional fundraising.
She previously worked for the BVCA (British Private Equity and Venture Capital Association) where she helped fund managers and institutional investors with developing guidelines and best practices for investment performance measurement, valuations and reporting. In 2010, Mei was seconded from the BVCA to Capital Dynamics, a private equity Fund of Funds, working within its European Investment Team on manager due diligence and monitoring as well as portfolio services. Prior to this, she was an academic researcher and worked with leading research institutions and private equity managers on the impact of private equity on the performance of investee companies.
Mei has a PhD in Corporate Finance and an MSc in Finance and Management from the University of Exeter. Mei also holds a Certificate in Securities from the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment.
